I've had tons of artists calling me, emailing me and approaching me, asking me if I have any artists that I've been working with since the gate. For the longest, I've hesitated to speak on the subject. It has been a bit of a sore one for me. 11 years as a music producer, and not a single artist from my childhood group, Deep Incisions, released a single album. Well those times are over. I'm proud to say that my good buddy, whom I've known since 13 years old, George Robins A.K.A. 44 Cal, of the Syndicate Mob, has released his debut single.
I was blown away by his eclectic mix of what I expected: incredible lyrical heat & pristine delivery, and what I did not expect: amazing, thoroughly thought out hooks, and a true signature sound. Click here: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/PortlandGeorge to take a listen to his album. I produced a few tracks on the album, including track 2, "Portland". There are some other fantastic producers on the album, so if you are interested in working with any of them, holler at me, I'll holler at George, we'll get some new producers some shine. If you're interested in featuring George on your tracks, I can vouch for him, he's a man about his business, and will bless your track with an unmistakable coat of heat.
I am truly touched to know that a childhood friend of mine still has the passion to release his music, and hope that my other Portland natives follow suit, and take control of the wheel in their own lives, the way George has done; not only as a recording artist, but as an adult - a father.
One love, 44. It's still D.I. over here, baby!
